A small crowd gathered at the State Capitol on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Sacramento, California to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution granting women the right to vote.  Kate Van Buren, Mistress of Ceremony, introduced speakers, Gina Mulligan, author of "Remember The Ladies", Angelique Ashby, Sacramento City Council, Nancy Compton, League of Women Voters, Katie McCleary, of 916 Ink and Rachel Michellin of CA Women Lead.  Singer-song writer Virginia Ayers Dawson began the event by singing the National Anthem and as a closing ceremony the group unfurled the banner for the Unity Banner For Hillary Project for a group photograph.
