Day 33: self isolation/covid 19/2020. The days are filled with chores, the news, napping, and often wondering what life will be like once shelter in place restrictions are removed and how this pandemic will forever alter our lives. There’s no going back that’s certain, but what lays ahead is uncertain. Everyday I work in the garden, pulling some weeds and enjoying the bird concert that has recently been joined by a woodpecker, and while the feral cats wait for their dinner I water what mostly looks like a dirt patch. Today, under the hot afternoon sun the soil cracked open and the pole beans poked through with the promise of a new life.
